Why should you source FSC®certified products?
We have all seen the logo on multiple products we use daily, but what does the logo stand for, and why should you consider sourcing your paper and wooden goods with the FSC® certification?
It’s no secret we are proud members of the FSC®, as we believe we can improve the world if we have meaningful and long-lasting partnerships with NGOs such as the Forest Steward Council®. We are also FSC® certified to source and supply our customers with FSC® certified goods.
But what is FSC®, and how could it benefit your business to source products with it? Let’s dive a bit deeper!
The Forest Steward Council® is a non-profit organization that drives responsible forestry through a certification arrangement. The system is set up to ensure a tight and secure chain of supplies. By having a secure chain of materials and goods, we can be sure that no other forestry has been used for the specific product than the one chosen by the customer.
The Forest Steward Council® contributes to 14 of the 17 United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. The focus is mainly on contributing to sustainable development by, for instance, preventing deforestation, destroying forests, and protecting biodiversity and ecosystems. The FSC® also works to preserve and provide fair wages, decent working conditions, and proper relationships with the local community.
Add value to your goods with FSC®
The FSC® logo is one that folks all over the globe recognize for its transparency in working towards making forestry a climate-friendly and more humane business.
By seeing the “check-wood” logo on a wooden product, consumers know it has been sourced and produced with the utmost respect for nature and the people working within it. This is a great sales tool to add value to your product. The recognizable logo also works as a stamp of quality, making customers more entitled to purchase your product with the FSC® logo rather than your competitors.
When sourcing FSC® goods, you have a more profound knowledge of the materials from which your products are developed. The wood only goes through FSC® certified factories to ensure it is not mixed with non-FSC wood. By only working with FSC® accredited factories, and suppliers, you can trace back the tree’s location that once was harvested from an FSC® forest.
“For Dymak, FSC is not only about responsibility, it is also about taking responsibility. With FSC certification, we help ensure that future generations can also benefit from natural resources and biodiversity.”
