Dymak is a global player in the Home and Garden supply chain, specializing in sourcing products for growers and garden centres worldwide. With about 130 colleagues in Europe, North America, and Asia, we work closely with companies to bring their creative visions to life through commercial product designs and custom packaging. Our services include design, quality control, financial guidance, and logistical support.

The role of Global Strategic Buyer is based in our headquarters in Odense, Denmark, and is a part of our global Strategic Buying team with direct reference to our CEO. The department is newly developed in the process of adding structure to our procurement process to support our future development and growth in Dymak.

Your tasks
As a Global Strategic Buyer at Dymak, you will be working in a cross-collaboration function with an especially close relationship with Sourcing and Commercial Sales departments.

Your responsibilities include:
• Aligning procurement decisions with Dymak’s overall business strategy and decided procedures. This includes actively collaborating with internal teams
• Initiation of potential key vendors incl. negotiating favorable prices and agreements
• Managing the procurement of high potential sales opportunities with cost optimization, quality control, risk mitigation and claims management
• Gather and conduct in-depth market research and analyze historical data to identify commercial needs, investigate industry trends, and develop product assortments for assigned commodities or categories

International travel is required in the role.

Your profile
To be a success in the role, it is vital that you have a deep understanding of sourcing processes combined with a commercial perspective. In addition, it is important that you have experience within the retail environment and a marked knowledge that provides you with an understanding of the relevant market dynamics.

Furthermore, you will need to possess the following skills:
• Structure: Ability to manage sourcing projects from initiation to implementation based on given timelines
• Procurement expertise: Thorough knowledge of procurement processes
• Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed purchasing decisions
• Negotiation expertise: Proven skills in negotiation and managing contractual terms
• Communication skills and cross functional collaboration: Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to build relationships and manage expectations
